SIGHT WORD BOOK

The booklet will go home on a your child’s reading day. Read through the list of sight words with your child each night. Tick off the words that your child knows and mark the ones that they still need to practise. Play games like concentration, snap, find the word etc to help them have a quick recall of each word. Please don’t make your child write them out in the boxes. Sight words are for reading (quick recall).  Please keep these in their reader bag.

HOME READERS

READERS WILL COME HOME EACH WEEK ON YOUR CHILD’S DESIGNATED DAY.  Your child will bring home 1 OR 2 books to read each week. Read the book with your child each night if possible. The books should be easy for your child to read. Make it FUN and ENJOYABLE!!!!!!!!   Please!!!  Parents fill in the reading log with date, title of book and signature and send back to school with book on your child’s reading day.

MATHLETICS

Each week the teachers will set new homework on Mathletics. Log on to www.mathletics.com and sign in. It doesn’t matter if they have done the activity before. It is the practise of the maths skills that is important. We encourage the children to play the games and try ‘live mathletics’ once they have completed the compulsory activities. If you don’t have access to a computer please let your class teacher know. Let us know if your child has forgotten their passwords. If your child is new to the school we will be giving them their passwords as soon as we receive them. Passwords will be glued on the inside cover of the Homework books.
