LiteracyThank you for your continued support with the children’s reading, sight words and writing.  We know it is coming to the end of the Year, but it is very important that we are persistent with our routines of daily reading and sight words. Children need positive reinforcement daily – at school and at home.

We are SO PROUD of THEIR PROGRESS and we want to share this with you.  They have worked very hard to get where they are and there are only a few weeks left of Year One …..

PBS4LBe in the right place at the right time is the next PBS4L focus the students will be revising. Our priority is to ensure students are safe at all times. We are re teaching the school’s expectation of the students staying on their playground so they are being supervised at all times.

Excursion

What an fantastic day that couldn’t have happened without the help and support of the amazing Mums that assisted Ros, Lili and I on the excursion. On behalf of the children and teachers we would like to thank Mrs Surma (Koby 1B), Mrs Cusack (Adalynn 1B), Mrs Ludvik (Paige 1G), Mrs Wang (Irina 1G), Mrs Teale (Christian 1W), Mrs Dean (Sakura 1W) and Mrs Caruana (Yanni 1W).

Photos will be posted over the next few weeks from today. Here is just one photo from today when we stepped back in time!

Have a wonderful weekend with your families!

Friday: Excursion

3 sleeps to go!!! Below is all the information you will need to know on the day.

The Year One excursion is this Friday 3rd November. Children are to arrive at school for the regular 8:45am bell. PLEASE ensure your child is on time, we will not be holding the buses up to wait for children as we need to keep to our schedule for the day. After the bell, the children will go to their classes with their teacher and parent helpers. We will mark the roll and inform the students of the group they have been allocated in.

We will be travelling to and from the venue by bus. Children will be back in time for regular afternoon dismissal.

Children with medical needs, we will be taking their school medical kits with us.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Small backpack (labelled with name)
  • fruit break, morning tea, lunch, drink bottle with water, raincoat (if needed)

Please do not send in any money as there will be no opportunity for students to purchase anything.

Children are to wear their school sports uniform with their school hat. If your child doesn’t have a school hat please send them to school with an appropriate hat to wear on the day. We recommend applying sunscreen in the morning.

Thank you to all the parents who offered to come, the response was OVERWHELMING! If we could take you all we would. Notification was sent home today to all parents who volunteered. All year one class placed the names in a bucket (once checking all WWCC were up to date) and we drew the names out in front of the children this afternoon. Once again, thank you for your ongoing support.  We could not do this without you.

If you are one of the parent helpers attending the excursion please make sure you are at the briefing in 1W at 8:15AM on Friday morning.  We will be going through the proceedings of the day and the groupings of the children.  We are very appreciative of your help and realise the day couldn’t go ahead without you. A reminder that younger siblings are unable to attend the excursion.

We will be taking photos on the day and will post them on the blog for all parents to view.
