Catholic Schools Week.

Our OLOR school community invites you to attend the Catholic Schools Week Liturgy which will begin at 9:15am in the school hall this Tuesday 7th March. Following the Liturgy family and friends are welcome to visit their child’s classroom. We are excited to share the wonderful learning experiences in our school community and each grade will be participating in a different lesson to showcase the learning at OLOR. During this time Year One will be completing reading groups. You are more than welcome to join your child and assist them with their reading group activity.

Library

Due to the Liturgy and open classroom in the morning our library time has been moved to Tuesday afternoon. Each class will quickly borrow and return to class. We kindly ask you to pack the children’s library book in their school bags on MONDAY and we will keep the library bag at school for Tuesday. This will allow us to return the books on Monday afternoon.

Early Years Assessment

Over the next two weeks the K, 1 and 2 teachers will be conducting Early Years Assessments on the children. This allows us to collect further data on the children and make adjustments to the classroom teaching based on the results. The teachers who will be covering the class will continue with the same routine and teaching content.

Miss Cole’s Dance Class

Reminder that each Tuesday is Miss Cole’s Dance Class. This is for the children who sent back the signed permission slip. The students are loving the opportunity to learn new dances and skills.

Garden Club:

For any child interested, Garden Club runs every week with Mrs Harvey! This is a great opportunity for children to learn new skills and become interested in taking care of our school environment. It also develops their love of growing healthy fruits and vegetables. We recommend children wear an old pair of runners as they are working in the dirt, then they can change back into their school shoes before the morning bell.

• Dance Fever Interschool Challenge- Sydney Olympic Park: Friday 31st March
• Last day of Term 1: Friday 7th April
